All on track for the Rotary Greatest Train Race, as sponsorship deal is concluded
Sponsorship of the 23rd Rotary Greatest Train Race has now been concluded and it will take place on Saturday, 22nd August 2009.
Equal main sponsorship is being provided by coal mining companies Anglo Coal, BHP Billiton Energy Coal South Africa and Optimum Coal.
In one of the largest charity events of its kind in South Africa, human endeavour is competing with a train drawn by a coal-powered steam locomotive as part of a popular community event, renowned for its festive atmosphere and camaraderie.
The race, which will again take place between eMalahleni (formerly known as Witbank) and Middelburg, attracted close to 13,000 participants last year.

Batelco wins award for sponsorship of government forum
Bahrain telecom company Batelco has received an award in appreciation of its Diamond Sponsorship of the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2009.
The event was aimed at spreading e-awareness across Bahrain and the GCC by discussing topics related to e-government services. As the Kingdom's leading integrated communications provider, Batelco has invested over $1.4 bn in telecoms infrastructure for Bahrain since 1981.
The completion of Batelco's NGN (Next Generation Network) at the beginning of 2009 was a significant milestone for Batelco and Bahrain and lays the foundation for the future of telecommunications for the Kingdom.

Al Hanoo Holding sponsors Hamriyah Summer Meeting in Sharjah
Leading UAE real estate developer Al Hanoo Holding, has announced its sponsorship of the fifteenth Hamriyah Summer Meeting, organised by the Hamriyah Sports and Cultural Club.
The event will see young boys and girls taking part in various sporting and cultural activities.
It is entitled Country of Bestowal and takes place between 13th June and 21st July, 2009.

2010 FIFA World Cup CEO says competition will be a financial success
Danny Jordaan, 2010 World Cup organising committee chief executive officer, has denied rumours that revenue from commercial and broadcasting deals for next year's FIFA World Cup would fall short of the target.
He said the income of US$3.2 bn (around R25.6 bn) generated so far was higher than for any previous World Cup.
