China Southern Airlines signs sponsorship pact with Asian Games

China Southern Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Partnership with the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) and become a Partner of the 16th Asian Games.

A signing ceremony was held in Guangzhou and attended by Mr Xu Ruisheng, Executive Deputy Secretary General of GAGOC and Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, Mr Tan Wangeng, President of China Southern Airlines, as well as executives from the Southern Media Corporation (SMC).

"China Southern Airlines is honoured to join hands with the Asian Games as a key sponsor and part of the greatest Games in history," said Mr Tan.

As a Partner for the 16th Asian Games, China Southern Airlines provides direct air transportation to nearly all major Asian Games destinations throughout Asia and the Middle East to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

Epic Games China confirmed as Platinum Sponsor of the second CGDC

The Organizing Committee of the China Game Developers Conference (CGDC) has announced that Epic Games China has officially confirmed its platinum sponsorship of the second CGDC.

According to the sponsorship agreement, Epic Games China will showcase Unreal Engine 3 in the "game tools zone" of this year's event, as well as its Atlas Technology massively multiplayer online game development suite, which extends Unreal Engine 3's functionality to support persistent online games.

Epic Games China will also host a special session to give conference attendees deeper insight into Unreal Engine 3 and Atlas Technology.

Nestle and Bata among sponsors supporting Seremban Half Marathon

The twenty-second running of the Seremban Half Marathon, to be run on July 12th, continues to attract a high degree of sponsorship support.

Among the many companies acting as sponsors are Nestle, who will provide tee shirts for the schoolchildren taking part, as well as gifts for the lucky draw and their Milo drink for refreshment during the event.

Bata will also provide tee shirts, along with running shoes. Seremban is the capital of the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan.

Lexus Cup golf tournament cancelled after sponsor Toyota withdraws support

Toyota Motor Corp's withdrawal of sponsorship support for the Lexus Cup has meant the LPGA event has had to be cancelled.

The women's annual tournament, backed by Toyota since 2005, featured an international team playing against a team from Asia.

The company said the pull-out was caused by the worldwide recession.

Elsewhere the Asian Tour has had to cancel its Masters of Asia event after sponsor Volvo withdrew.

HSBC sponsors six special athletes from Borneo to attend Special Olympics

Banking group HSBC is helping The Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD) to send six of their special athletes to the Seventh Special Olympics Singapore National Games 2009, which get under way in Singapore tomorrow.

The Games are for the intellectually disabled and are held every four years.

Nine sports are being featured in the 2009 Games.
