Coca-Cola and Singapore 2010 partnership will fuel the Singapore roar Worldwide Olympic Partner Coca-Cola has today become a Presenting Partner for the Singapore leg of the Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame (JYOF), adding a new chapter to its Olympic legacy. Coca-Cola will work with the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) to select torchbearers from the Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWO). In addition, Coca-Cola will coordinate programmes to motivate torchbearers and spectators in the run up to the six day relay in Singapore. More details will be released in weeks to come.
"The resulting composite shape fuses the two logos into a single unit reminiscent of the iconic Merlion silhouette".
Coca-Cola also revealed the Coca-Cola Youth Olympic Games outdoor campaign visuals which will be displayed across the island to create excitement for Singapore 2010. The visual depicts a bottle of Coca-Cola held aloft as the person cheers the country on for the Games, symbolising Coca-Cola as the "fuel" contributing to the success of the first Youth Olympic Games.
The Olympic Flame for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games will be lit in Olympia, Greece in July and journey through one city in each continent – Berlin, Dakar, Mexico City, Auckland and Seoul, before reaching Singapore. The Singapore leg of JYOF will travel to the five community districts with a traditional six-day torch relay, and end off each day with a Community Celebration. Through JYOF, Singapore 2010 seeks to connect youth around the world to the Olympic Movement.
Mr Goh Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Officer, SYOGOC, said: "We are delighted to have the partnership of Coca-Cola, who will be encouraging the torchbearers and spectators to give their best for the first Olympic Games torch relay in Singapore. We invite everyone in Singapore to experience and cheer the flame with us as we welcome the inaugural Youth Olympic Flame to Singapore".
