Gen-i sponsors world-renowned wearable art awards show Gen-i, a leading Australasian ICT services provider, has signed a three year contract for the exclusive sponsorship of the Creative Excellence Section of the annual Montana World of WearableArt (WOW) Awards Show. Designers entering this year’s Creative Excellence Section of the show, held in Wellington from 24th September to 4th October, must create a garment by transforming a flat surface through folding. Under the sponsorship agreement, Gen-i will become a section partner of the Montana World of WearableArt Awards Show, supporting the world-renowned competition which showcases innovative works of art designed for the moving body. Francesca O’Dwyer, Gen-i’s Brand Experience Manager, says Gen-i is proud to sponsor the event and sees the sponsorship as another way Gen-i can encourage innovation and creativity in New Zealand. "WOW is all about recognising and celebrating the innovation shown by New Zealand designers and artists", she says. Through our sponsorship of this event, we are committed to supporting the successful people whose skills and ideas bring New Zealand to the front of the world stage. "Our business is based on successful partnerships with our clients and we constantly look for ways to strengthen those relationships on all levels. Supporting events like WOW also provides a great opportunity to bring our clients, people and partners together to have some fun, network and build on existing relationships", she added.
Gabrielle Hervey, WOW Ltd’s Managing Director, says the organisation is delighted to be partnering with Gen-i.
"We are thrilled to have Gen-i, a successful New Zealand company, on board as a key sponsor for one of the most highly anticipated theatrical arts event in the country. Gen-i has given fantastic support to WOW over the last four years through its corporate hospitality programme and we are very pleased to be extending the partnership. A sponsorship like this is tremendous for the New Zealand arts community and we are excited to welcome Gen-i to our family of sponsors.”
To enable its people and clients to participate in the sponsorship, Gen-i is running a competition that encourages people to have fun and explore their creative side by designing their own virtual WOW garment, using an online tool. The Gen-i competition will be judged by WOW’s Founder, Suzie Moncrieff.
The Montana World of WearableArt Awards Show is an annual competition where artists and designers from New Zealand and all around the world enter garments that are presented in a two hour theatrical extravaganza.
This year’s event is held at Wellington’s TSB Bank Arena and runs from Thursday, 24th September until Sunday, 4th October, with the awards being presented on Friday, 25th September.
