Fair and festival sponsorship spending to total $775 million in 2009: IEG Sponsorship spending on fairs, festivals and other annual events will total $775 million in 2009, up 2.9 percent from $753 million last year, according to IEG, the leading authority on sponsorship. Event spending has been driven in part by larger commitments from local companies, many of whom are aligning with events to demonstrate their community support and social responsibility, says IEG. As in years past, fairs and festivals continue to benefit from their ability to provide access to large numbers of consumers during summer, a season when consumers are frequently outside their homes and difficult to reach through traditional media.

This year's competition begins with an opening ceremony on September 1st, 2009 followed by four days of intense competition.

Ford partners with Essence Music Festival as first year sponsor Ford Motor Company, a global automotive industry leader, has signed up as a first-year sponsor of the critically-acclaimed Essence Music Festival, held in New Orleans over July 4th weekend and headlined by multi-platinum selling artist Beyonce. Ford has created unique programs for New Orleans, ranging from the sponsorship of the Women's Day Seminar to vehicle ride and drive opportunities with various products in the Ford portfolio, including the all new 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The vehicle will travel seven hudred miles on a single tank of gas.

RBC named Title Sponsor to Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BigsNYC) - America's oldest mentoring agency - today announced that RBC (Royal Bank of Canada), with a corporate donation of $100,000, will be the title sponsor of the 5th Annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC RBC Race for the Kids - part of Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play on Saturday, September 26th in Riverside Park, New York City. The Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC RBC Race for the Kids will take place on September 26th beginning at 10:00 a.m. The day's festivities include a 4K Race/Fun Walk, food, entertainment provided by Nickelodeon, special VIP guests, face painting and games.
