"Efficient and reliable communications are a vital and integral part of everything we do in the modern world, and to approach a FIFA World Cup without the help and expertise of a major telecommunications provider would be unthinkable. We are therefore delighted to announce that Oi will be joining FIFA as a global sponsor for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil", said Thierry Weil, Director of FIFA’s Marketing Division.

Emphasis

"Already Brazil's largest telecommunications company, Oi has a rapidly-expanding reputation throughout Latin America and represents a perfect fit within the portfolio of FIFA’s World Cup Sponsors.

"We're especially pleased that Oi is committed to continuing its emphasis on the sporting development of its own youth as this is obviously something that remains extremely close to our own hearts here at FIFA".

Oi’s agreement with FIFA begins in 2011 and will run until 2014, during which time the telecommunications giant will enjoy global rights aimed at consolidating the Oi brand as a supporter of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, as well as reinforcing the company’s image both at home in Brazil and throughout Latin America.

Banco Cruzeiro do Sol to sponsor racer Bruno Senna and HRT Team

Luis Octavio Indio da Costa, Director- Superintendent of Banco Cruzeiro do Sul, along with Viviane Senna, President of Instituto Ayrton Senna, has announced today in Sao Paulo the Brazilian institution's sponsorship of Bruno Senna and the Hispania Racing Team, during the 2010 Formula 1 season.

This is the first time the bank's brand will appear at the world's largest automotive racing event.

The racer, Viviane's son and the nephew of three-time world champion Ayrton Senna, who would have turned fifty in 2010, will make his debut on Sunday at the Grand Prix of Bahrain, which will take place in the Sakhir Desert.

Hispania Racing (HRT F1), one of four teams scheduled to make their debuts in Bahrain next week, is in fact the renamed Campos Meta, following an announcement on Wednesday.

According to Indio da Costa: "Four years after implementing our sports incentive program, we feel that by sponsoring a driver like Bruno Senna we are placing our bets on one of the young rising stars in world auto racing". Bruno Senna, who goes into F1 after only a five year career, expressed his thanks "for the trust the bank is placing in a young driver making his debut".

Homage

Banco Cruzeiro do Sul dedicated a theme song to the driver - Tema de Bruno Senna (The Bruno Senna Theme)- http://www.voice.com.br/brunosenna/ - written by Eduardo Souto Neto, a composer, arranger and instrumentalist who also wrote Tema da Vitoria (Victory Theme), played during all the victories of Brazilian racers in Formula 1 events, and made popular because of Ayrton Senna.

"The song", said Luis Octavio Indio da Costa, "is dedicated to Bruno as an homage to the return of a Senna to Formula 1".

Sponsorship of the racer and team is part of the sports incentive program implemented more than four years ago by Banco Cruzeiro do Sul, and has previously included athletes in the sports of beach volleyball, judo and horseback riding.

Banco Cruzeiro do Sul is a public corporation and one of the leading Brazilian banks, operating for fifteen years in the market of credit consignment with payroll deductions.
